that's my kind of night

a couple weeks ago Leah and I went to the Luke Bryan "That's My Kind of Night" tour. He had two amazing opening acts Mr. Cole Swindell, and the hunky Lee Brice.  *side note, I had tried to get tickets when this show first went on sale, however, I had no luck in finding tickets

A week before the show Leah was on FB talking about finding someone to go to the show with and I messaged her immediately. Somehow we found amazing tickets within five minutes. Row 12 in the section right next to the stage. This was going to be Leah's first ever country concert! I was so excited to go with her.

We got into downtown St. Paul and headed right to Burger Moes. If you haven't been there you need to go immediately! Ate dinner and hoped and prayed we wouldn't fall on the ice that lined the sidewalks on our way to the Xcel Energy Center. Thankfully we made it inside, it was freezing outside, only 3 above with a wicked windchill.

While waiting for Cole Swindell to take the stage I noticed two super duper overly intoxicated chicks. I turned to Leah and said " in about five minutes that beer will be all over me and my north face." sure enough a few minutes later (after Cole hit the stage) one of the drunk chicks fell over and her beer spilled all.over.me and my jacket. I was so unbelievably pissed off.  I went right up to security to let them know what was going on, everyone in our section was clearly peeved at these drunk chicks. after a couple more trips to complain to security about them, they told us there wasn't anywhere to put the girls because the show was so over sold out. I was pissed again at this point that they wouldn't just kick them out. The supervisor could tell I was getting more and more peeved by the minute.  She asked me if I wanted to go into the "pit" area.  we agreed.
This area was right at the front of the stage, only full of super important people and members of Cole Swindell's band.  We were finally able to enjoy the show without the drunk chicks. I don't mind if your drunk but at least be able to hold on to you beer. #oldlady

I took some videos and was so excited to share it with you. However, we were THAT close to the speakers you can't make out anything he is saying or singing. All you here is boom boom boom-you get the point. I was able to get some amazing photos.

Out of all the performers Lee Brice was my favorite.
What's the best concert you've been to?

Solid Gold Beef Jerky Dog Treats review

I was so excited when I heard about Solid Gold Northland and doing a review for dog treats. We all know I love my son dog.

Dexter was in the car the day these treats arrived in the mail. He could instantly tell something yummie was in the package, and boy was he right. I was running errands and left him in the car with the package (silly mistake) I got back into the car and noticed the package and Dexter were on the floor (and not on the seat where I had left them).  I told Dex we would go home so he could try out his new treats. Once we got home and I opened the package he started doing his little "treat dance".  I gave him one just to see how he like it, and he loved it (not that I was surprised).

I really liked that I read the back of the package and knew what all the ingredients were. Its nice to know what he is eating. I get worried about giving him something that will upset his stomach, or make him sick. I feel really comfortable about giving him Solid Gold Beef Jerky.  Solid Gold also makes Jerky in Turkey and Lamb.

Every morning after Dexter does his "business" he gets a treat. He races up the stairs and sits by the "treat closet". I figured I would see how well he likes these treats. Well he loves them! In the past I would give him a treat before I left and I would come home and the treat would be uneaten. Well since I've started leaving these treats on the floor they are long gone by the time I come home. WIN WIN I say!

(just ignoring my camera)

Dexter isn't the only one enjoying the treats. Cat tested and cat approved!

Special thanks to Solid Gold Northland for sending the treats our way. We look forward to reviewing more products from Solid Gold Northland

I was not compensated in any way for this review. All thoughts on Solid Review are my own.

Book Review & Kindle Paperweight Giveaway

I'm excited to share a book review of My Three Men by: A . Latoya Charlton

The synopsis:
There he was; tall with milky skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. Daniel Rodham.  Even voluptuous, audacious, fatshionista Shyanne McKenzie didn’t expect that she would find herself caught up in a love affair at her new job. But this is no ordinary affair she realizes, as her life becomes complicated and twisted when ex-lover Sean Powell and connoisseur, Tyler Morgan, turns it into a ‘love square’.
Without warning, Shyanne finds herself in a world of power, sex, money, love, tragedy, deceit, betrayal and vengeance. Leaving her quirky, smart-ass ways behind, she steps boldly into her newly discovered sophisticated and adroit self playing the game of love for what it truly is; her bitch.

My thoughts:

I enjoyed reading this book. The book has tons of drama, romance, heartbreak, and goes through all the emotions of friendship. This book took me from the cold Minnesota weather right into the heat of the island. Its been a while since a book really took me into a different place. I felt as if I was really on the island hanging out with Shyanne. This book really turns up the "heat". The main characters Daniel Rodham, Sean Powell, and Tyler Morgan( The Three Men) are all attracted to Shyanne, and she has feelings for all of them. Now here's where you have to start the book... What fun would it be if I told you how it ended or who she ends up with?

now on to the giveaway

One lucky reader will be given a chance to win a Kindle Paperwhite AND get this, one of Shyanne's favorite MAC Lipsticks! All you have to do is follow the instructions below and you'll be entered to win. The more you complete, the more points you score and hey, a Kindle Paperwhite could be yours! You also get to choose from five amazing MAC Lipsticks

what I'm reading (March)

Its supposed to be Spring on Thursday. The weather here in Minnesota has been anything but Springy.  I've been attempting to hit up the dog park with Dexter, clean out the garage, and look forward to the Summer, but Mother Nature is making this more and more difficult. Today we had some sleet mess, tomorrow we're supposed to get rain, sleet, and then some snow( depending on what news station you watch we might be getting a lot of snow!)

I've been doing what I do best reading.

I plan to read these books this month.

(**All images taken from Google**)

I'm almost done with this book. I heard about this book from watching the movie (of the same name) I'm curious to see how they differ. I've heard the ending is a lot different, I hope in a good way.

synopsis from Goodreads:

SUTTER KEELY. HE’S the guy you want at your party. He’ll get everyone dancing. He’ ll get everyone in your parents’ pool. Okay, so he’s not exactly a shining academic star. He has no plans for college and will probably end up folding men’s shirts for a living. But there are plenty of ladies in town, and with the help of Dean Martin and Seagram’s V.O., life’s pretty fabuloso, actually.

Until the morning he wakes up on a random front lawn, and he meets Aimee. Aimee’s clueless. Aimee is a social disaster. Aimee needs help, and it’s up to the Sutterman to show Aimee a splendiferous time and then let her go forth and prosper. But Aimee’s not like other girls, and before long he’s in way over his head. For the first time in his life, he has the power to make a difference in someone else’s life—or ruin it forever.

synopsis from Goodreads:

In many ways, Reeve LeClaire looks like a typical twenty-two year old girl. She’s finally landed her own apartment, she waitresses to pay the bills, and she wishes she wasn’t so nervous around new people. She thinks of herself as agile, not skittish. As serious, not grim. But Reeve is anything but normal.

Ten years ago, she was kidnapped and held captive. After a lucky escape, she’s spent the last six years trying to rebuild her life, a recovery thanks in large part to her indispensable therapist Dr. Ezra Lerner. But when he asks her to help another girl rescued from a similar situation, Reeve realizes she may not simply need to mentor this young victim—she may be the only one who can protect her from a cunning predator who is still out there, watching every move.

synopsis from Goodreads:

Since the death of her husband, Anne Dunne and her three children have struggled in every way. In a last ditch effort to save the family, Anne plans an elaborate sailing vacation to bring everyone together once again. But only an hour out of port, everything is going wrong. The teenage daughter, Carrie, is planning to drown herself. The teenage son, Mark, is high on drugs and ten-year-old Ernie is nearly catatonic. This is the worst vacation ever.

Anne manages to pull things together bit by bit, but just as they begin feeling like a family again, something catastrophic happens. Survival may be the least of their concerns.

synopsis from Goodreads:

The police can't help you

Former CIA agent Jack Morgan runs Private, a renowned investigation company with branches around the globe. It is where you go when you need maximum force and maximum discretion. The secrets of the most influential men and women on the planet come to Jack daily--and his staff of investigators uses the world's most advanced forensic tools to make and break their cases.

The press will destroy you

Jack is already deep into the investigation of a multi-million dollar NFL gambling scandal and the unsolved slayings of 18 schoolgirls when he learns of a horrific murder close to home: his best friend's wife, Jack's former lover, has been killed. It nearly pushes him over the edge. Instead, Jack pushes back and devotes all of Private's resources to tracking down her killer.

move over Luke Bryan

if you've followed this blog for any while now you might have heard I have a wee bit   full blown obsession with Luke Bryan.
Even though I saw Luke concert two weeks ago and was upgraded to the pit area ( so I could literally reach out and touch him) my love for him is fading.

Let me tell show you why

this man has taken over my heart and ears

(in case you are still confused, this is Mr. Dierks Bentley)

If you haven't listened to him-seen him live-watched an interview with him, do yourself a favor and hop on his train.

I've been lucky enough to see him 7-8 times. I've seen him in a small tiny bar, at the state fair, and most recently last October in a co-headlining tour with Miranda Lambert.  I'm hopin' and a wishin' he comes back to Minneapolis very soon to play songs of the new album.

his new album "Riser" is one of my favorite all time albums... not just of his of all TIME! its that damn good. go and get it nowwwww!

my favorite tracks on the album are:

"Pretty Girls"
"Drunk on a Plane"

and my most favorite is

Happy Friday Friends!

 photo ScreenShot2013-06-06at13525PM_zps68cc99b9.png

and we took the next step....

just popping in to wish everyone a Happy Friday! We don't have many plans this weekend which is nice. We have been jam packed (yet again) as of late and we need to work on not trying to plan the hell out of our weekends.  Finally the weather seems to have turned the corner (for now) and warmed up. Dexter Morgan is going CRaZZZYYYYYYY, since he hasn't been able to be outside for longer than 2.2 seconds before he freezes.  March is the snowiest month in Minnesota. I'm crossing my fingers for little to no snow this month.  I probably just jinxed myself.

I had a pretty bad accident about a month ago. A week after I had paid Herbie off. He is finally mine, and then some chick (driving way to fast) rear ended me. So that was tons of fun. Every time I've had an appointment to get him fixed up, its snowed. I didn't want to risk the chance of driving a rental car in the snow.

last week we also took a huge step in our relationship. We financed a car together! eek! In February we had paid my car off. I was hoping for a little more time without a car payment, but life always seems to work that way, and our other car crapped out on us. I kept saying to Ry-guy "you know we'll have been together for nine years once this loan is paid off". I was (and am) still freaking out that we have a loan together. Even though we have a couple credit cards we both use of each others, and all our utility bills are in both our names.

The car we ended up with is a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant. We hadn't really had this car in mind, but we fell in love with it. The biggest thing that we were looking for is that Ry-guy fit in the car. Being 6'5 and riding in a car comfortably can be a challenge for him. I really wanted and SUV, but Ry-guy wanted a sedan. I'm very happy he got something he wanted. He is in love with his new little girl.

Buying this car means I have to "cool it" with the concert ticket purchases (as per Ry-guy).  I don't have a huge shoe or purse collection. I just love being around live music.   As much as I love live music, we've never been to a concert together. I like mostly country and he is a little more old school rock and roll. after talking about not buying concert tickets for a while, we ended up getting tickets to see Augustana together for our anniversary in May. I am beyond excited to attend a live show with him, and see Augustana again. If you haven't seen them live you are missing out!

on and its daylight savings time this weekend. We lose an hour of sleep! booo hoo! I love that it will be light out later at night, but I take the bus to the city each morning and I hate walking around when its dark out in the morning. oh well, maybe Spring will hurry up and get here!

have a great weekend friends!

Hi, I have a blog......

so I have a blog, I don't act like I have one but I do. I love blogging. I love the friends I've made through blogging. I don't love the "rut" I've been in as of late. I have numerous drafts waiting for a few more tweaks before I hit publish. I can't seem to get my shit together and just hit post.

I've been trying to enjoy the Winter, even though its not really a Winter, its like hell but cold. is there a name for that? 50 days with below zero temps doesn't strike my fancy.

I've been out and about in the cold meeting with friends, seeing my BF (no, not Ry-guy) Luke Bryan,

making Summer plans. But I can't seem to blog about the fun stuff.

After work tonight I'll be hitting up the gym to work on my fitness. Its been quite some time since I did this. I have to make sure to keep telling myself that everyone has to start somewhere, so this is my somewhere.

I will be playing on Ry-guy's coed softball team this Summer, and I want to be more in shape for that. (I played fast-pitch softball for 10 years) As just in general be in better shape. I've had some medical stuff that has caused me to gain (wayyyy too much) weight. Most of that junk is over and I can get on with being at a healthy weight, and a more confident weight for me.  Here's hoping.

Whelp I'm hoping to be back more regularly, with a couple concert reviews, and some big relationship/life news (and no I'm not preggers or engaged), and  hopefully a general life update.
