things I don't love

everyones got something to bitch about so here goes.  Things I don't love Thursday

I don't love being sick for the past four days. I missed the past three days of work, ish.
I don't love when people don't follow directions/instructions. Maybe if you would put the G.D. cell phone down, stop texting and listen up you might get ahead in life.

I don't love being hungry at 10am and eating my PB&J for a snack, and having no lunch today. boo!
I don't love hearing about all the gun violence going on nowadays.
I don't love that Luke Bryan is married. I mean give homegirl a shot. #allimaskingforisachance

I don't love that Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended several years ago, and I'm still having withdraw.

I don't love the extra, superduper, frigid cold air in Minnesota the past few weeks.

What I'm Loving Wednesday/Firmoo Review

I'm loving riding the bus to and from work. pshh. don't tell Ryan.  I fought long and hard about driving myself to work.  Parking for one month costs $130 buckaroos, and gas prices up and down.  It only made sense to take the bus.

I'm loving my new glasses from Firmoo.  I was contacted by them about a month ago to review their product. I was a bit unsure about ordering glasses from an online site. I need to try them on, to feel them, etc. Lucky for me, Firmoo features an option that you can upload a photo of yourself and see what the glasses you pick out will look like.  I went back and forth, again and again about which frames to order. I settled on this pair

(I am  unable to find the link to this pair.)

They also sent a very nice hard case, cleaning cloth and cloth case. I've been wearing them non-stop since last Friday.  I've received numerous compliments on them.  Ry-guy even loves them. I am glad this was such a wonderful experience.  I will defiantly be ordering another pair from Firmoo very soon.
I'm loving that Firmoo has a great offer for my readers. You can receive your first pair for FREE you just pay shipping.  Go here to learn more.

I'm loving that Ry-guy was offered an amazing job and he has accepted! I couldn't be more proud of him.

I'm loving Netfix. You have kept me company while I have been trying to fight off this sickness. oh and you've kept me company on the bus rides to and from work.

I'm loving that I will be seeing some fun Minnesota Bloggers this weekend!

I'm loving $4.48 flats from Target.  Ryan thinks I have enough, but you can never have enough pairs of flats!

what are you loving this Wednesday?

*please note, my review of Firmoo products is soley 100% my own. I was not paid to provide this review. Firmoo provided me with glasses for purposes of a product review. *

weekend recap...on a Tuesday...

oh heyyy its Tuesday, and I haven't blogged since last Wednesday. Life got in the way, yet again... we attempted to have a social life this past weekend, which was fun. Sunday I got sick, and I've been home from work the past two days. Bored outta my mind. even those Salvatore brothers can't keep the boredom away.

I know you've all been on pins and needles wondering what we did this weekend, here goes.

Friday, night, we went out with some friends to celebrate my belated birthday. We hit up Burger Jones.  I'd heard great things about this place. It was decent. I thought it would be better than it was. The food was subpar. Ryan and I love beer cheese soup, so of course we had to get some. It wasn't very flavorful.  Ryan didn't even eat more than two bites. That's saying something for him.

we enjoyed a new brand of hard cider. Somersby. Very good!

my bison burger. fun fact, I love bison meat.

Ry's burger creation

Saturday, we hit up our usual lunch spot. Which Wich. If you've never been there, you must go immede. Its a sandwich lovers dream.

Saturday night was game night.  We played some awesome games.Cards of Humanity is my new favorite game. Just think Apples to Apples goes to Hell. yeah its bad. but in a great way..

I was a #bloggerfail and didn't take any photos!

Sunday I started to get sick and miserable. BOO!

there really is a holiday for everything..

and not everything needs a holiday. January 21 is National Hug Day. Why on earth do we need a National Hug Day.  I'm not sure if I've ever told you, but I HATE, HATE, HATE hugs.  Hugs are super uncomfortable.

If you are crying and need a hug, I will walk away.  I sound like the biggest meanie head in the world. I'm not, I promise you. I just don't do hugs. I will console you from across the room. Or at least attempt to.

Well I do hugs from Ryan, and went I attempt to smother cuddle with Dexter Morgan.

oh and from these cuties. But seriously that's it!

Although, I do agree that we need a National Donut Day, I mean donuts are effing fantastic. Nuff said.

Are there any National ______ Day that you find stupid?

the facts of life... my life.

linking-up today with Whitney for the facts of me.
I hate, hate, hate when people lick their fingers. even the noise is horrendous, not just the act.ish!
I'm not a fan of ice. I'd rather wait for something to get cold, before I'd put ice in it.
when I find something I like. ie song, movie, actor/person, book. I obsesse over it. I will listen to songs, over, and over, and over again. I will read all the books an author has published. well you get the point.
I stand on the left side of photos. ALWAYS
I make my bed everyday. I hate coming home to an unmade bed.
When out shopping for groceries, I always take the second item from the shelf.  Never the first.
I never "top off" my gas tank. When it stops at $59.21, I don't try to round it up to an even amount.
I have one tooth that is missing, and I wear a flipper. Yup, just like the tots on Toddlers and Tiaras.
I don't like to wear my hair up ever. I once had an ex-bf who told me I looked ugly with my hair up. Its stuck with me all this time. I will keep my hair down to work-out, until I absolutely can't take it anymore.
I played fast-pitch softball for 10 years of my life.
I am right-handed, but they taught me how to be a switch hitter. I actually bat better left-handed.
I played 2nd and 3rd base.
I've always worked in a Higher Education, but I hate school. Well I hate going to school. I see the value in it.
I drink everything from a straw, mostly a plastic tumbler. Ry-guy calls them " a glorified sippy cup"
I hate to check voice-mails on my phone. I will wait till I have over 20 before I check them. I did download a program that reads the voice-mail and sends it to me in text form.
If I only could have one beverage for the rest of my life, I would choose water. Ice Cold water!
I hate the movie The Notebook. I don't get the hype.

my lucky number is 32.
I own numerous fleece jackets. I collect them like kids used to collect stickers.
I don't drink milk. I can't tell you the last time I ever drank a full glass of milk.  ish, ish, ish!
I didn't try smoking a cigarette till I was 25 years old. Never again. ish.
I eat mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and rice with a spoon. I'm not a fan of using a fork.
Growing up, I wanted to be an ESPN announcer. Before  Erin Andrews.

I could watch sports all day long. for realz. except NFL football. I hate NFL football.
I've worn glasses since 3rd grade. In 8th grade I finally got contacts.
As I kid, I was called by my last name, more than my first name. I don't know if you've ever had a friend name Jen, Jennifer, Jenny, incase you didn't know it was a popular name in the 80s.  Therefore, my teachers called me Petrie (Pee Tree). My last name. Like Petrie from The Land Before Time.

I do not enjoy eating at a buffet. ick.  The feed troffs, the germs.

I just asked Ryan for some facts about me he said
"you might be the pickest eater on the face of the planet"
"you don't wear socks, like ever." this is true. I HATEEEE SOCKS. even when its -20 outside in Winter.
"you have a dog toy purchasing addiction, and you  name them all."-yup I do name them all. We're starting to run out of names!
don't for get to go link-up and share some facts about yourself!

This weekend I, weekend update

Sometimes things don't work out the way you had planned. This weekend that statement couldn't have been more true. I choose to roll with the punches and make the most of it.

Friday, I took the day of from work. Originally, I had planned to do something fun, before you I knew it I had several appointments lined up that day. dentist, eye doctor, dermatologist  and an MRI for my thumb. Unfortunately, Katie wasn't able to make it into town this weekend.

After running around town on Friday, Ryan and I hit up the Redbox.  I'd been dying to see Frankenweenie, so of course we got that. I've really been on a Joseph Gordon-Levitt kick lately, we rented Premium Rush. I had rented Beasts of the Southern Wild before, but never got to watch it, I figured I would give it another try this weekend.   We came home and watch the Minnesota Gopher vs. University of North Dakota Hockey game. This is one of the best rivalries in all of sports. Best part about the game was we won!!!

Saturday, we woke up and made a big breakfast. Watched a couple of the Redbox movies and hung out with the pups. We had started Magic City earlier in the week and we decided to finish it. We loved it. Can't wait for season 2. Saturday night we watched the last game of the Gophers vs. UND hockey series.  It was an incredible game. The game ended in a tie.  The best part of the day was watching the Minnesota Wild hockey game.  It seemed like we had to wait forever for NHL hockey to come back to Minnesota. It was worth the wait.  We won!

Since the weekend here was pretty chilly, we didn't leave the house on Sunday.  We hung out (some more), did some laundry, and cleaning.  I'd been really curious to watch the show Game of Thrones, so we started it. I LOVE IT! I didn't think I would after the first episode. Lucky for me I have today off for Martin Luther King Jr. day and we were able to spend the rest of the day finishing up the first season..

I'm so glad its Winter, so I don't feel so bad about spending some much time in front of the boob tube.

What I'm loving Wednesday

I'm loving that Katie will be coming to see me this weekend.  Homegirl is going to drive four hours to come see me, and meet Dexter Morgan.  I couldn't be more excited!

I'm loving the movie Pitch Perfect.  We had been wanting to see the film when it was in theaters, but life got in the way.  We happened to see it at the Redbox last night and decided to check it out.  It was hilarious.  A lot of crude jokes and whatnot, but not over the top.  I'm not the biggest Anna Kendrick fan, somehow in this movie she won me over.  I hope she starts making more movies like this.  Girl can sing.  Ry-guy even liked it, a lot!  He said he thought it would be more like Glee, but was glad it wasn't.

I'm loving Broccoli and Cheese soup.  I just can't seem to get enough.  Ry-guy said he would try and find a recipe to make at home.  If he makes one I will defiantly share with you.

I'm loving that I finally decided to take steps to figure out where  my anxiety comes from.  This means meeting with a counselor a few times a month to talk about what "triggers" my anxiety.  My issues with anxiety have a huge part in my life and I've wanted to share them on le blog for a while now.  I finally feel comfortable doing that.  In the next few weeks I will share my story. Get ready!

I'm (secretly) loving that A.I starts tonight.  I'm not a fan of Nicki (hot mess) Minaj, but we'll see what she brings to the table.  I do love that Keith Urban is a judge this year.  I don't normally watch all the audition stuff.  I love when they finally figure out the top 12.

I'm loving that my new glasses from Firmoo should be here soon.  I can't wait to review them with you. Even though you may have seen numerous other reviews.

I'm loving that Friday I finally get to see my Dermatologist   Yours truly is sick of this nasty acne, breakout skin. Any ideas would be helpful #letsworkthisshitoutasap.

I'm loving Dexter Morgan.  He has no fear of cold in Minnesota. He is a true Minnesotan.  He doesn't care how cold it is.  In this photo it was 12 above.  Driving about 35mph. # insaneinthemembrane

I'm loving that Hockey is finalllyyyyyyy back.  I loved this last Wednesday, but the Minnesota Wild will play their first game on Saturday night.  WOOT!

This weekend I.../Weekend Update

Friday night I met up with my good friend Christina for dinner.  We went to Redstone, which is my favorite restaurant  in the Twin Cities.  Life has been very stressful as of late, so of course we had to enjoy some martinis.

One of the best martini's around. A Stoli Doli.

We munched on some Fondue

After dinner we had plans to head to see a movie. We ended up missing our movie time.  So we did the next best thing.. We went to Target.  I walked out some super cute flats for 70% off, and some other junk  items.

I also got these pretties in green. They have them in pink, but I haven't been able to find a 7.5.

This weekend it got pretty cold, even for Minnesota standards. So Ryan and I decided to stay in for the rest of the weekend. I wasn't feeling so hot, so we laid around, I napped, and we caught up on season 3 of  Royal Pains.

We are house sitting for a friend now. She has a female Boxer named Stella

Dexter and Stella have been chasing each other like crazy.

You can see all the shenanigans by following @dextermorgansmama on Instagram.

Ryan made the Pioneer Woman Baked Ziti. I am a horrible blogger and didn't take any photos. It was good, but very heavy.  Something that doesn't help when you're trying to lose weight.
