Fur Baby Friday (link-up)

Linking up today for Fur Baby Friday.

We are missing little Dexter Morgan so much. We had to take some photos before we left. We had a mini photo shoot with Mr. Morgan

We CAN'T wait to get home to our boy. This is the first time EVER that we've gone on a trip without him.

What are you doing this weekend ladies?

My Current Obsessions vol. 6

I'm currently obsessed with

anything soft. I have to learn to chew on the left side of my mouth, since the root canal.  I have to get a crown put on in two weeks. I can eat anything I want after that!

TV Show

If you haven't been watching this show, you should. I loved Fran Drescher in "The Nanny" and in this show she does not disappoint.

I haven't listened to any new music in FOREVER! I've been listening to audio book cds. Right now I'm listening to Breaking Dawn.

I do however, have the new Rascal Flatts CD.  I've heard good an bad things about it. We'll see.

I love this magazine for the coupies. I love coupons. This magazine has great articles.

I can't wait to see Mike and Stacy get married this weekend. I love weddings. My man looks super handsome. He's down 17lbs so we're gonna look hot this weekend. Yup.

Getting my hair did tomorrow. Going blonde. Not either brunette or black.

What are you obsessions this week?

What I'm loving Wednesday

Linking up today for WILW.

I'm loving that in 18 hours from this post I will be back in Minnesota!

I'm loving that I didn't pack the kitchen sink. We'll see how many clothing items I come back with.

I'm loving that Ry-guy and I are able to share one piece of luggage, thus saving us $25 buckaroos.

I'm loving that I got my root canal done before I left town. It didn't hurt a bit.  Now I hope this lasts through the trip.

I'm loving that I will be getting this mane did on Friday morning. I'm pretty sure I will be headed back to blonde. I'm a natural blonde. woot!

I'm loving that on Friday I am having lunch with my "Big Sister".  We haven't seen each other in maybe eight if not ten years. wozzers.

I'm loving that I already have blog posts set up for you lovely ladies so you won't have to miss me too much while I'm away.

I'm loving that as of this week I am officially down 20lbs since Christmas.

I'm loving that I will have a reason to take 154123012345561 photos in Minnesota. Ry-guy is already thrilled!

What are you guys loving this week?

send something good

I'm super duper excited to be apart of send something good. I love getting mail, real mail, not this e-email junk. I've got a couple mail link-ups under my belt. you can read about them here and here. I knew who my partner was in both swaps. This time around I have no idea who has me. eep. (insert anxiety here).  Anywho I wanted to share some of my favorite things with you guys and maybe even the blogger who is sending me something good. These favorite things are in no particular order.

nail polish-duh
anything University of Minnesota-Golden Gophers
photos and frames
beauty products
anything with puppy prints/paws
acrylic tumblers
lip gloss
super cool lunch bag/pail
beauty brushes

I'm going to stop now. I could go on and on about everything I love, but I won't. I can't wait to show you my goodies I receive.

What are some of your favorite things?

April Birchbox (link-up)

Linking up today with Tara and Katie for  Birchbox Brag. A couple days ago I said I was dunzo with Birchbox. Well after much thought. I signed back up again today. woot!  Let's hope Ry guy isn't reading this post. If he is "heyy lover".  he he.

Okay so I was less than thrilled with this box. I mean I got a full size product so that was sweet. The other my stuff isn't really my cup of tea. I'm not going to go into long detail about the swag I received. I will show the photos. If you care enough to see what the products are, I will post the card that details this. Sorry for the lame-o post. Its Monday and I'm blah.

There ya have it friends. My Birchbox swag.

Later loves!

Fur Baby Friday #6 (link-up)

Linking up again today for Fur Baby Friday with Mrs. Monologues.  Lately, Dexter Morgan has been quite the snuggle bug.  I just love it! I could snuggle with my boys all day long.

This is one of his Papa's favorites

My sweet little boy

TFIG loves!
What are you doing this weekend?

I just don't know how to quit you

Hi my name is Jen and I have a nail polish obsession.  I also have a fondness for beauty products.

A while back I signed up for Birchbox, which I love.  I also found Julep which has amazing nail polish.  They also send beauty products with the nail polish. love that!  I stumbled across another blog with a monthly nail polish subscription. Of course I had to have it. My Mama is also aware of my addiction and she would send me a fun package once a week with a new polish or two. love her!

Well last week when she was here, her and Ry guy had a mini intervention with me. Ry told me  advised me that I should "cool it on the nail polish for a while".

We have a lot of events (requiring us to travel) this summer and I need a new dress for pretty much every one. I can't have all the nail polish and the dresses is pretty much what we decided on.

I didn't really have a leg to stand on when this came in the mail and or bought all in two days.

Exhibit A

It was really hard for me to hit the "cancel" button for my Birchbox subscription. I hated having to call into Julep to cancel my order.

Dear Birchbox and Julep, I will see you again. Even only if its in my dreams.

What have you had to give up lately?

What I'm loving Wednesday (link-up)

Linking up again with Little Daisy May for What I'm loving Wednesday.

I'm loving that in one short week, Ry and I will be back in our homeland. Minnesota! Yes, I cannot wait to be back to see friends and family.

I'm loving that we'll be going to a wedding in Minnesota. Who doesn't love weddings? My handsome man will be in the wedding. His bestie is marrying the most perfect, sweet gal.

I'm loving Dexter Morgan, he's been so sweet and cuddly at night. I woke up several times last night and he was cuddled under my armpit.

I'm loving that in Minnesota I will be gettin my hairs did. yup so excited. I haven't done anything to this mane since last November. ISH!

I'm loving that I met some great ladies down here for Book Club on Monday. My co-worker was nice enough to let this gal tag along and meet her friends. Seriously the worst thing about moving 531 miles from everything, is not having friends.

As much as I love Ry guy, I really like my girl time. A LOT.

I'm loving that I bought this super duper cute dress for the wedding. 53buckroos at Macy's. woot!

I'm loving my new blog followers. Hayyyy!  And of course the ones that have been reading since the start. Hiiii!

I'm loving a whole lot of other things, but they seemed to have escaped my thoughts.

What are you loving this Wednesday?

Elizabeth Smart

Last Friday I had the opportunity to see Elizabeth Smart speak.  For those of you who don't know who she is, you can find out more here.  She was in Missouri to speak about preventing child abuse and overcoming adversity. I had followed her story and wanted to hear what she had to say. If you ever get the chance to hear her tell her story, you should go. It really made me think about my life. I feel like I live in a safe neighborhood, so did she. She had loving and caring parents, so do I.  It showed me that anything can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. I don't mean to freak people out with this post. It was an eye opener.

She had amazing style!
Great tangerine pencil skirt and nude heels.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention month

Here are some statistics.

  • Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education.
  • About 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, continuing the horrible cycle of abuse. 5

Whew.... sorry for such a serious blog post.

More fun will be had tomorrow loves.

Dexter Morgan has many facial expressions. Here are some that I've captured over the past week.
